Description

DESCRIPTION

The global energy crisis poses a significant challenge, but it can be mitigated by monitoring and reducing energy consumption. Power theft compounds the problem, impacting the economy and necessitating effective measures. To address this, an IoT electricity meter with a microcontroller, WIFI, and GSM modules is proposed. Users receive information via SMS, and a current sensor relays readings to the microcontroller. Configuring costs for the unit is made simple through buttons. The system continuously displays real-time readings on the IoT screen, and any instances of energy theft are promptly detected and reported via SMS to the configured number. The system can be remotely switched off via IoT to prevent theft, and this action is communicated through a message on the user’s cell phone.
