DESCRIPTION
The proposed air quality management system employs these sensors in a coordinated manner to continuously monitor the surrounding air. The data collected from the sensors is processed using an integrated microcontroller unit or a microprocessor. The MCU receives sensor readings and performs data analysis, including calibration, filtering, and fusion, to determine the air quality index. The AQI provides a standardized measurement of air quality and helps assess the potential health risks associated with specific pollutant concentrations.
The MQ5 sensor primarily detects the presence of natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and other combustible gases. The MQ7 sensor is specifically designed for carbon monoxide detection, which is a toxic gas commonly emitted by vehicles and industrial processes. The MQ135 sensor focuses on detecting harmful gases such as ammonia, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds, which are significant contributors to air pollution. Additionally, the DHT11 sensor measures temperature and humidity, providing valuable environmental context for air quality analysis.
