Introduction
This project demonstrates a Bluetooth-controlled motorized screw jack with a 3D-printed coupling mechanism between the motor and the jack. It is designed to lift and lower loads wirelessly, eliminating the need for manual operation of a traditional screw jack. Using a smartphone app and a Bluetooth module (HC-05), users can wirelessly control the jack’s motor, enabling smooth raising and lowering of vehicles or heavy loads.
The 3D-printed coupling between the motor and jack ensures precise torque transmission, improved alignment, and reduced mechanical wear. This makes the system lightweight, portable, and highly efficient for applications like workshops, automotive service stations, roadside emergency kits, and even robotics/mechatronics demonstrations. The project also uses Arduino as the core controller with an L293D motor driver for forward/reverse operation and a battery supply for portability.

Working
The Bluetooth-controlled motorized screw jack operates by wirelessly controlling a DC motor using a smartphone. First, power is supplied to the Arduino system through a 12V battery, which activates the Arduino controller, HC-05 Bluetooth module, and L293D motor driver. The user connects a smartphone to the HC-05 module via Bluetooth and opens a control application.
When the user presses the UP command in the mobile app, a signal is sent through Bluetooth to the Arduino. The Arduino processes this command and instructs the L293D motor driver to rotate the DC motor in the forward direction. The motor transfers rotational motion to the screw jack through the 3D-printed coupling, causing the jack to lift the load gradually.
When the DOWN command is selected, the Arduino reverses the motor direction through the motor driver, allowing the screw mechanism to rotate in the opposite direction and lower the load smoothly. Pressing the STOP command immediately halts motor rotation, holding the jack at the current position due to the self-locking nature of the screw mechanism.
