Introduction

In recent years, the development of intelligent automotive safety systems has gained significant attention due to the increasing need for improved driver assistance and road safety. Traditional windshield wiper systems require manual operation, which can distract drivers during sudden rainfall and reduce driving efficiency. With the rapid growth of embedded systems and sensor-based automation, it is now possible to design smart and responsive vehicle subsystems that operate automatically with minimal human intervention.

The automatic car wiper system using Arduino and a rain sensor is designed to improve driving comfort and safety by enabling automatic detection of rainfall and responsive wiper movement. The system integrates an Arduino microcontroller, rain sensor module, and MG995 servo motor to detect moisture levels and control wiper motion accordingly. When raindrops fall on the sensor surface, the system detects changes in conductivity and automatically activates the wiper mechanism without manual input.

When rainfall intensity increases, the rain sensor sends signals to the Arduino, which processes the data and adjusts the servo motor speed and angle to simulate realistic windshield wiping action. The system ensures efficient visibility during rainfall and reduces driver workload by automating the wiping process.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Conventional vehicle wiper systems depend on manual operation, which may lead to delayed response during sudden rainfall and compromise driving safety. Drivers often struggle to adjust wiper speed continuously during varying rainfall conditions.
