Description
INTRODUCTION
In this project the ultrasonic sensors are mounted on the belt and emit sound waves that bounce off objects in the vicinity. The sensors then measure the time it takes for the sound waves to return, allowing the belt to calculate the distance to nearby obstacles. The ISD1820 voice module converts this distance data into audible instructions or feedback, which is relayed to the user through a set of earphones or a small speaker. The belt might say “Obstacle detected 2 meters ahead or Clear path detected. The Smart Guidance Belt aims to enhance the blind person’s awareness of their environment, enabling them to avoid obstacles and navigate safely.

WORKING
The Smart Guidance Belt works by combining four ultrasonic sensors mounted at strategic locations on the front, left, right, and rear sides of a wearable belt. These sensors continuously scan the environment to pick up on obstacles at a predetermined distance. The sensor data is then processed through an Arduino microcontroller that interprets the distance data in real time. As an object approaches a certain distance, the system initiates an associated voice warning through the use of the ISD1820 voice playback modules. The pre-recorded voice messages include “Obstacle ahead” or “Obstacle on the right,” directing the user to steer clear of the obstacle and also the recorded voice can be changed or updated according to individual’s need . There are power supply components to all parts, compact and dependable in nature, ensuring portability and continuous function. The whole system is mounted on a standard wearable belt so that the user can move about individually and comfortably without having to use their hands or other aiding devices.
