Description
DESCRIPTION
The problem faced by people in this modern era in urban areas is the problem of parking whether it is in shopping mall, railway station, hospitals, movie theatre, etc. This problem occurs due the increase of number of vehicles in recent times. Furthermore, today’s car parking is insufficient and driver/users waste most of the time in finding a place to park their vehicles. This project use modern technologies like IoT (Internet of Things) which detects the availability of parking slots in the parking lots. The suggested system is made up of two principal components: gate monitoring and parking space monitoring. For parking space monitoring, strategic placements of IR sensors are made to identify the presence of cars in every parking space. The information from such sensors is then communicated to a central server via IoT technology. Users can view this information either via a mobile app or web interface, which allows them to easily locate available parking spaces. For gate monitoring, two IR sensors are used at the entry and exit gates of the parking lot. The sensors track the coming and going of vehicles, making it possible for the system to accurately monitor the occupancy status of the entire parking lot. An intelligent algorithm controls the opening and closing of gates based on the movement of the vehicle, thus providing smooth flow of traffic within the parking lot.
