In today’s era of sustainable energy and portable electronics, harvesting small amounts of energy from human activities is becoming a fascinating field of research. One of the most practical approaches is the use of piezoelectric materials to generate electricity from mechanical stress. This project, “Piezo Electric Energy Generation from Walking and Phone Charging”, demonstrates how everyday foot movements can be converted into usable electrical power for small devices.
The system utilizes piezoelectric sensors placed underfoot to convert the mechanical stress of walking into electrical energy. In this setup, two 4 V batteries are connected in series to provide 8 V storage capacity. The harvested energy from the Piezo sensors charges these batteries, storing the generated electricity. The stored energy is then regulated using a 7805 voltage regulator to provide a stable 5 V output, enabling phone charging through a USB-C port directly from the user’s pocket.
