If the vehicle detects an object at 30 cm → slow down.
If it’s 10 cm and approaching fast → activate air bumper + trigger ABS-like braking.
This system consists of Ultrasonic Sensor, Microcontroller Unit, Pneumatic bumper system, Air pump and, Solenoid valve. The Ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the obstacle. When there is any obstacle closer to the vehicle then the Microcontroller gives the  signal to the bumper activation system.

INTRODUCTION

Pneumatic structures operate using a reserve of compressed air that must be available in sufficient quantity and at a pressure that matches the flow rate of the system. However, when using a pneumatic system for the first time, it is essential to address the issue of providing a reliable compressed air supply. Pneumatic technology plays a critical role in the field of automation, particularly in modern mechanical workshops and robotic systems. The project  is to design and develop an intelligent control system based on the activation of an electronically controlled vehicle bumper using a pneumatic damper with a ultrasonic sensor for measuring distance. This project includes a microcontroller as a control unit and a pneumatic bumper mechanism. If an obstacle is detected within 10 cm of the vehicle, a control signal is sent to the control unit and simultaneously to the pneumatic bumper, causing it to move forward. This bumper system is implemented to protect the vehicle engine and reduce potential damage. The Advanced Pneumatic Bumper Car is a smart safety prototype designed to reduce collision impact using pneumatic systems and ultrasonic sensing. In order to minimize damage in the event of an accident, this project uses an Arduino microcontroller to identify obstacles and automatically deploy a pneumatic bumper via a solenoid valve and air pump. Equipped with DC motors and a motor driver, the vehicle functions independently and responds instantly.

METHODOLOGY

In order to identify obstacles in real time, the Advanced Pneumatic Bumper Car combines an Arduino microcontroller with an ultrasonic sensor. The Arduino instantly activates a relay module that turns on an air pump when the sensor detects an object within a predetermined range. This pump extends and lessens the impact of a possible collision by channeling air into a pneumatic cylinder via a solenoid valve. The car can move on its own thanks to four DC motors that are powered and controlled simultaneously by an L293D motor driver. The electronics, which are all run on a rechargeable battery, are stabilized by a 5V voltage regulator. This system combines obstacle detection, pneumatic control, and other intelligent safety features to react automatically to threats in the vicinity controlled by an arduino uno microcontroller.
